Hi, My Name Is Phillip, And I'm An Alcoholic

Not really, but sometimes I wish I were, but that's neither here nor there. I created this blog/community to hopefully create a group of creatively interested people. This is for anyone: casual media enjoyers, hardcore fandoms, people who just like the thought experiment of discussing the abstract idea of our evolving culture and the media that forms around it, or even weirder, Marvel fans.

But, I want it to be known that this is not a community of hate but instead, discourse. I used to be the type of person who would tear people down for the things they like, but as I've grown older, I've realized that there is something to learn from anything, everything, and everyone. It may seem weird to you at first, or even disgusting that someone could like One Piece, but I bet if you gave a One Piece fan a chance to pitch why they like the anime, then you may learn about yourself, art, or that people who watch anime can be cool; even if you don't enjoy the same thing.

Now, with that said, argumentation is not a bad thing either. If we didn't bounce ideas off each other, our society would have never developed. So argue, but remember that these arguments or disagreements are worthless 85% of the time. It's not easy to change someone's mind, but that's why you argue or disagree because, eventually, you will change someone's mind or introduce them to something new. When that happens, you've potentially made the world a better place (unless you were recruiting for the nazi regime, but I can't control what you argue about overall, although you will get banned if that is the case, so you've been warned).

Now, something about me: I am a student at Full Sail. I am pursuing a creative writing degree and have many passions. Scriptwriting, Directing, Photography, Cinematography, Animation, Illustration, Reviewing, Design, and Writing prose (obviously). I want to use this site as the hub for all these pursuits. I'd like to eventually link to a designer shop where I can sell some of the things I draw on clothing or merch. I will definitely be posting stories here and reviewing the media I consume. And there's much more, but seeing as how my ambitions are high, it's fruitless to name them all since I probably won't get to half of them, but you never know.
